About Avignon

Avignon is a historic town on the Rhone river in Provence, a beautifully preserved medieval town surrounded by the original fortified city walls.  Avignon is a small city that has everything a big one has, and more.

Art and culture, theatre, cinema, museums, big stores and little shops, dining ranging from family-run restaurants, good and inexpensive to some of the greatest Michelin-starred chefs.

Lavender - There are lots of Lavender stores in Avignon. You can find everything lavender from soap to towels and closet fresheners. Consider a day trip to the beautiful Provence lavender fields located just outside of the city.

Cathedrale Notre-Dame des Doms - A 12th century cathedral in Provençal Romanesque style, a perfect place to visit if you are into history and art.

Pont St. Benezet (Saint Bénézet Bridge)

Enjoy l’heure de l’apéritif - between the day’s activities and the evening meal, l'heure de l'apéritif is usually a beverage and a few nibbles.
